Eric Gottlieb was an attorney and aspiring documentary filmmaker in 2001.

As he worked to produce a documentary about Charles Wakefield, Jr.’s fight to prove his innocence, Gottlieb found himself using his legal training to represent Wakefield at parole board hearings.

While Gottlieb ultimately decided not to produce the film, he worked with Wakefield for a decade and ultimately played the pivotal role in securing Wakefield’s release from prison.
