Show notes:

A Bunch of Amateurs is based on a quote from 1975 Greenville County Sheriff Cash Williams, who said his county didn’t have an organized crime problem.

It begins with a bungled drug crime that took place four weeks before Frank Looper died, and it introduces the infamous Greenville drug thief and drug dealer behind it, Jackie Delk.

Listeners are then introduced to Ivan Nachman (aka Ryan Quade Emerson), the internal affairs investigator hired by Greenville County Sheriff Cash Williams. Listeners learn just how damaging it can be for a lawman to hire someone to investigate his own department.

WOW THIS EPISODE IS ASTOUNDING. I sincerely hope this podcast is made into a Movie. Mr. Wakefield deserves to be totally exonerated and also compensated for all the years he was wrongly imprisoned . All the players still alive should also be charged. Somebody , and most likely more than one knows who murdered Lt. Looper and his father.

    1. Amber Galea says:

I can see Wakefield played by Danny Glover.

      1. Jay says:

I’d say the Wayans guy would be a good candidate

    2. William Henry sr says:

      Amen

    3. Jane Capps says:

Hollywood would ruin the story. Perhaps a docu-series.

    1. Darrell East says:

Is the entire radio interview with Sheriff Williams available to listen to?

  2. Hank says:

I looked up the obituary for Ballard George. He is listed as Reverend Ballard George. It would be interesting for someone who knew him well to share the story of the last two decades of his life. How do you go from picking up Frank Walker and Country Small on Altamont to Reverend George?
